Every bit as cosmopolitan as Seattle, with a distinctive European flair, Vancouver is the Canadian jewel of Puget Sound. From the cobblestone streets of the Gastown district to Little Italy and Chinatown, Vancouver has something for everyone. This is one of the most famously beautiful passages in all the world. It features virtually everything you came to Alaska hoping to see, including rain forests, glaciers, fjords and white-capped peaks. All of which create a setting that’s perfect for viewing whales and sea lions.

In addition to being the jumping-off point for seaplane excursions into the Misty Fjords National Monument and its 2.2 million acres of wilderness nirvana, Ketchikan is also the ancestral home of the Tlingit tribe. Another “must-see” here is the world’s largest collection of totem poles. You can learn what motivates someone to turn a piece of lumber into a towering work of art at the Saxman Native Village and Totem Bight and Totem Heritage Center.

It’s doubtful you’ll succumb to gold fever, but if any place on earth can summon up the thrill of prospecting, it’s Skagway. By embracing its gold-rush past, Skagway has managed to preserve a frontier spirit complete with saloons and dance-hall revues. If the spirit does overtake you, passage on the White Pass & Yukon Railway or a ride on the Klondike Highway will take you to places where you can roll up your sleeves and do some prospecting of your own.

Fifty miles west of Juneau and at the mouth of Glacier Bay, lies historic Icy Strait Point. Travelers have the unique opportunity to experience Tlingit culture, superior wildlife viewing opportunities and years of Alaskan history. Hubbard Glacier is the one glacier in the world that does not move at a glacial pace. Quite the opposite. In fact, in 1986, Hubbard Glacier - the largest tidewater glacier on the North American continent - moved an average of just under 5.5 feet per hour. Keep a watchful eye as you sail through the Yakutat Bay, as you may be a witness to geological history.

Seward is a fishing village surrounded by the unrivaled beauty of the Kenai Wildlife Refuge, the Alaska Maritime National Refuge, Chugach National Forest and the Kenai Fjords National Park. As you might expect, opportunities for up-close and personal encounters with wildlife abound.

What do you call a place that offers world-class restaurants, Broadway-style shows, a luxurious spa and amenities that rival the grandest hotel on land? We call her Celebrity Millennium; you’ll call her magnificent. To sail on Celebrity Millennium, the first of our Millennium-class of ships, is an experience that cannot be expressed in words. Stride her decks and see for yourself what those who have experienced her already know: Celebrity Millennium is more than a ship; she is a special memory waiting to be had.

11 Night Italy, Sicily & Croatia

Royal Clipper

Natural beauty and 4,000 years of history converge in Italy, Sicily & the islands of the Mediterranean …
Justly famed for its sparkling capitals, ancient civilizations and cultured ambience, Royal Clipper’s Mediterranean is a world of mythical and tranquil seas, soaring mountains, medieval villages and sun-warmed beaches. Royal Clipper offers one seven night itinerary from Rome’s port of Civitavecchia, which includes sun-drenched Sicily, stops throughout the volcanic Aeolian Islands and routes along Italy’s romantic Amalfi Coast. Put yourself in a magical place of ancient Roman ruins, idyllic ports and myth-making islands lost in time; where tall cypresses, olive groves and hilltop villages remind you of Italian hill towns; where dancing waters are dotted with white sails and thousands of islands spill like green jewels over the sea; and more precious treasures abound in medieval walled cities that have miraculously survived through centuries of attack and siege.

It is a country that is more sea than land; birthplace of generations of sailors and adventurers, including Marco Polo. Here fishermen still bring in the catch every day - and seafood never sees a freezer before being served at your table! This is the enchanted Istrian and Dalmatian Coast of Croatia, and it is richly deserving of your discovery. But come quickly. Because others will find it very soon! Join us as we discover an unsurpassed enclave of the Adriatic Sea combining the best of the ancient and new, the alluring archipelagos and coastline of Croatia.

Inspired by the legendary Tall Ship, Preussen, Royal Clipper has the proud distinction of being the largest and only five-masted sailing ship built since her predecessor was launched at the beginning of the last century. With her complement of 42 sails, Royal Clipper is a splendid sight to behold. You might think she was an apparition from the grand age of sail, but Royal Clipper is as new as tomorrow, boasting state-of-the-art navigation systems and all the comfort of today. For connoisseurs of sail cruising, the 134 metre Royal Clipper offers the ultimate sea-going experience, balancing the grandeur, adventure and tradition of sailing with the superb service, amenities and accommodations of the finest modern yacht. Royal Clipper carries just 227 guests in luxurious style. A full 1760 square meters of open deck and three swimming pools create a wonderfully spacious and expansive outdoor environment. Find your secret hideaway on one of the hidden balconies on either side of the bow. Or climb the mast (with safety harness provided) to one of the passenger look out ‘crow’s-nests’, where you’ll have the grandest view of all! Royal Clipper’s interior spaces are just as dazzling. They include a 3-deck atrium that funnels sunlight into the elegantly-appointed dining room, featuring deliciously prepared cuisine and a no-tie dress code. A convenient marina platform lowers from the stern for water sports and diving.

The tiny Principality of Monaco is one of the world’s smallest countries, measuring less than one square mile. Evidence of prehistoric settlements have been discovered here, and later the Greeks and Romans established colonies.

In the early part of the fourteenth century, the Grimaldi family purchased Monaco from the Genoans, establishing a new government. Due to its vast fortunes, it has become one of the world’s most famous places. Americans became particularly enchanted with the country after Grace Kelly married Prince Ranier III and today it is a popular destination due to its striking natural beauty.

Following closely in the wake of the Seven Seas Mariner, the Regent Seven Seas Cruises (formerly Radisson Seven Seas Cruises) new 700-guest Seven Seas Voyager is the world’s second all-suite, all-balcony ship and the second to feature a restaurant operated by Le Cordon Bleu® of Paris. There are four main dining venues, surprising for a ship of her size. The Voyager also features some of the highest space and service ratios at sea, and her suites are the largest “lead-in” suites in the industry.

Viking River Cruises

This 16-day journey explores China’s cradle of culture with a 10-day cruise on the Yangtze all the way from Chongqing to Nanjing. You still see all the wonders of Beijing, Xian and Shanghai, but on this cruise, you uncover the roots of Chinese civilization from Jingdezhen, birthplace of porcelain; to Mt. Jiu Hua’s remote Buddhist Temple complex; to Nanjing, former capital of ancient China; and Suzhou with its famed gardens. This journey is for those who want to really understand the origins of Chinese culture.

Day 1: Welcome to Beijing, China’s former imperial capital whose rich history dates back more than 3,000 years. We will meet you at the airport and transfer you to your hotel.* After check-in, you have free time to relax or explore.

Day 2: This morning visit Tiananmen Square, built to accommodate over 1,000,000 people. Then, tour Beijing’s mysterious Forbidden City. Completed in 1420, it was off limits to visitors for 500 years. Explore the elegant palaces, pavilions, courtyards and gardens within its walls. After a local lunch, tour the Summer Palace, a 700-acre complex. Walk among its elegant buildings and landscaped grounds, considered among the finest Chinese gardens. Tonight’s dinner features China’s famous Peking Duck followed by a performance of the world-renowned Peking Opera.

Day 3: After breakfast, travel to the Badaling Hills to walk the ramparts of the fabled Great Wall of China. Lunch in a local restaurant is followed by a stroll along the Sacred Way, a tree-lined avenue with massive animal sculptures guarding the Ming Tombs. Tonight enjoy a dinner of local specialties.

Day 4: Today tour Old Beijing’s hutongs (narrow alleys) via rickshaw.† Discover the sights and sounds of traditional Chinese life. Visit a silk carpet workshop for a demonstration of this ancient art. After lunch, fly to Xian, key city of the Tang Dynasty. From 618 to 907 A.D. this dynasty presided over one of China’s most glorious cultural periods. Tonight, experience its grandeur as you dine surrounded by the historic song and dance of this colorful era.

Day 5: After breakfast, tour the mausoleum where Emperor Qin Shi Huang was laid to rest over 2,000 years ago. Marvel at his eternal minions-more than 6,000 life-sized Terra Cotta Warriors, archers, infantrymen and horses buried with him-from walkways that provide a bird’s-eye view. After lunch fly to Chongqing, gateway to the Yangtze. You are welcomed aboard the Viking Century Sky and enjoy a Western dinner.

Day 6: This afternoon, you tour the 12-story red pavilion Shibaozhai Temple. An amazing piece of Chinese architecture built during the Qing Dynasty (c. 1650), it is set on a hill high above the Yangtze. Climb up to the top for breathtaking views of the river below.

Day 7: This morning, cruise past the spectacular limestone cliffs known as the Three Gorges. During your 150-mile journey, first pass Qutang Gorge, the shortest and narrowest of the three larger gorges. Then board smaller boats to the Lesser Three Gorges. Marvel at the hanging coffins of the Ba people and the ancient plank road carved into the Cliffside. After enjoying a scenic lunch stop, board your ship and cruise through Wu (Witches) Gorge.

Day 8: Enjoy breakfast aboard while traversing the 5-stage locks of the Dam. Disembark for a tour of the Three Gorges Dam. Learn about this immense hydroelectric engineering project and how it will affect the Chinese people and the Yangtze. Then cruise through Xiling Gorge, the longest of the Three Gorges.

Day 9: This morning, visit a rural village where Viking River Cruises has sponsored a much-needed elementary school. Arrive to a warm greeting from the children and be charmed with songs and stories.

Day 10: After breakfast, sail Dongting Lake, China’s second-largest freshwater lake. From here, tour 66-foot-high Yueyang Tower and its nearby pavilions, originally built during the Qing Dynasty.

Day 11: After breakfast, disembark in Wuhan, capital of Hubei Province. Tour the Hubei Museum with its many historic artifacts including a collection of ancient bronze bells.

Day 12: After breakfast, tour the Ceramic History Museum. Learn how ceramics were produced in ancient times and their significance to each dynasty.

Day 13: Marvel at the tranquil beauty of Mt. jiu hua, one of only four sacred Buddhist Mountains. Later, tour a Buddhist temple and enjoy dinner onboard.

Day 14: After breakfast, enjoy a scenic motor coach ride to Suzhou, nicknamed “Venice of the East” for its intricate canals. Tour the Old Town and embark on a sampan ride. Tour a silk factory and the exquisite Fishermen’s Garden. Have lunch and continue via motor coach to Shanghai. Check in to your hotel and enjoy dinner with evening free time.

Day 15: This morning, tour Old Shanghai and the Bund, the city’s elegant riverfront promenade. Then, visit the Shanghai Museum, featuring displays of ceramics, bronzes and paintings. Enjoy dinner in a local restaurant, followed by a Chinese acrobatic performance.

Day 16: After breakfast, check out of your hotel and we will take you to the airport for your return flight.

Built in 2005/2006, the Viking Century Sun offers a maximum of 306 passengers the comfort and amenities you would expect from a five-star hotel-for example, her grand lobby, elegant restaurant, well-appointed gym and onboard beauty salon. The ship boast a lounge bar, a sheltered bar on the sun deck with breathtaking 360-degree views, and an elegant cafeteria on the promenade deck. The spacious staterooms all have outside views and private balconies. You will cruise in comfort and with peace of mind knowing that the ships are equipped with the state-of-the art navigation and safety systems in line with our philosophy to offer our guests only the best.

10 Day Mexican Riviera & Sea of Cortez Cruise

Holland America ms Ryndam

Sunshine and fun are business as usual in San Diego. Walk on Coronado Island’s sandy beach, take in the Old Town that brings the city’s early Spanish days to life, have a wild time at the famous San Diego Zoo or a whale of a good time at Sea World.

At the tip of the Baja Peninsula, where the blue Pacific mingles with the Sea of Cortez in a whirl of watercolors is the beautiful town of Cabo San Lucas. Even more spectacular: waters teeming with marlin, swordfish, sailfish, tuna and other fighting fish. Feast your eyes on exquisite black coral; take in the annual migration of the gray whale.

The peaceful seaside community of Loreto, Mexico, founded in 1697 by Jesuit priest and explorer Juan Maria Salvatierra, was the first European settlement in the Californias. Stroll the cobbled plaza to the Mision Nuestra Se ora de Loreta, burnished with years of devotion; commune with nature as you snorkel the crystal-clear lagoons of Isla Coronados.

Have you heard of Topolobampo? Good, don’t tell anyone. Holland America Line is the only major cruise line to call on this peaceful port on Mexico’s Sea of Cortez. Awaiting your arrival: playful bottlenose dolphins; the mansion of Don Diego de la Vega, “El Zorro”; grand visions of the Chihuahua-al-Pacifico Railway, a luxury train through Mexico’s scenic Copper Canyon.

Home of the largest shrimp fleet in the world, Mazatlan tempts with every variation of this tasty crustacean: grilled, al mojo de ajo (with garlic), or in the shell with a tangy squeeze of lime. Other temptations: miles of uninterrupted sandy beaches, busy markets, and sleepy mining towns tucked into the Sierra Madre.

No longer the well-kept secret of the artists, writers and Hollywood stars who first “discovered” it in the 1960s, Puerto Vallarta or “PV” (as it is affectionately known) still retains the essence of the quaint fishing village it once was. Here is Viejo Vallarta, the quaint Old Town, An enticing mix of red-tiled buildings, cobbled streets, chic shops and bustling open markets. Here are Mismaloya Beach, Gringo Gulch and Conchas Chinas, the Beverly Hills of Vallarta.

At 720-feet, the ms Ryndam is designed to carry fewer guests while providing more space for maximum comfort. Many staterooms feature commanding ocean views and have private verandahs. With a Dutch worldwide exploration theme, the decor of the ms Ryndam features art and artifacts from the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries. A muzzle-loading canon from the 17th Century, found on the floor of the North Sea is one of the more unusual pieces. At the heart of the ms Ryndam a three-story atrium features a monumental fountain created by sculptor Gilbert Lebigre in Pietrasanta, Italy. Guests aboard this spacious ship encounter elegance at every turn - from a string quartet serenade in the splendid Rotterdam Dining Room to the two-deck Vermeer Show Lounge.

Celebrity Infinity

Once the epicenter of Spring Break, Ft. Lauderdale is now a year-round destination where culture and cuisine are in ample supply. Beautiful beaches, sunshine, coastline, nightclubs and superb restaurants await you in this Gold Coast enclave. More restaurants and shopping on Las Olas Boulevard or Himmarshee in downtown Ft. Lauderdale are a must.

Founded in 1533, Cartagena is the picture-perfect Spanish-colonial village. A fortress wall surrounds the historic village’s pastel-colored architecture, quaint streets and fine cathedrals, containing them like jewels. Stroll through the walled old town (Ciudad Murallada), shop the boutiques housed in what used to be dungeons, and otherwise enjoy a jaunt through a rich history.

“The land of the divided, the world united.” It’s hard to imagine a more fitting motto for what in no uncertain terms irrevocably changed the Western Hemisphere forever. For fifty miles the Panama Canal transects the exotic emerald jungles of Panama and gives one an appreciation of what a Herculean task it was to build this waterway before the advent of computers and giant earth movers.

Manta, Ecuador affords the visitor unprecedented access to ancient Manta culture, including the small rafts once used by the Manta circa 500 - 1500 AD. A short jaunt from the port is the Bahia de Manta. There you’ll find el Parque Nacional Machalilla with its cloud forests, archeological sites and colonies of nesting seabirds.

The cultural and economic heart of Peru, Lima once served as the seat of power for the Spanish Empire of South America. Lima is home to fine museums of archeology, art and even gold. The catacombs beneath the Church of San Francisco are a sight to behold as are the thousands of antique texts you’ll find in the library of the adjoining monastery.

Arica, Chile is an oasis, literally. Bordered by desert sand dunes and fertile valleys fed by the melting and life-giving snows of the Andes, this city is located in the heart of some culturally fascinating attractions. The Plaza Colon, Eiffel’s iron cathedral of San Marcos, is one such point of interest. Another is the archeology museum in the nearby Azapa Valley. There you’ll find pre-Columbian weavings, carvings and mummies from the Chinchorro culture dating back to 10,000 BC.

If you’re looking to steal a few tranquil moments, what better place than La Serena, Chile The Serene One. Its nearby pristine beaches come with powdery white sand and warm water. And Chile’s second-oldest city also offers quite a collection of cultural delights. Be sure to take in the stunning colonial architecture around the Plaza de Armas, go stargazing at the Mamalluca Observatory, and sample the region’s mouth-watering seafood.

The entire town of Valparaiso, Chile seems to precariously hang on precipitous cliffs, crisscrossed by narrow, twisting footpaths, stairways and the city’s time-tested rapid transit system of funicular cars called ascensores. If you’ve never ridden one, you’re in for a treat.

Onboard the Celebrity Infinity you will find a sumptuous, world-class meal. A theatrical extravaganza reminiscent of the best on Broadway. Cocktails in a piano bar at midnight, breakfast overlooking the sea at sunrise. Each and every one is a reality on Infinity. A member of our Millennium class of ships, Celebrity Infinity is steeped with prestige and elegance. Dressed in polished marble, warm woods and etched glass, Celebrity Infinity consistently makes a long-lasting, luxurious impression.
